Crows midfielder Bernie Vince was doing his ‘due diligence’ by meeting with Demons officials.

The Adelaide Football Club was aware of Vince’s meeting in Melbourne last Friday.

Vince, 28, is contracted to the Crows for next season, but met with the Demons at their request.

Vince’s manager Justin Reid said the 2009 Crows Club Champion, who left for the United States on Sunday, would spend more time assessing his future whilst overseas.

“There have been a few clubs that have enquired about Bernie over the last week,” Reid told FIVEaa.

“Bernie is contracted. The Crows and Bernie haven’t made a decision to part ways or anything like that. Melbourne instigated the chat and the Crows were aware of it, so everyone was up front and on the same page.

“Nothing might come of it, but things can change quite quickly these days and we wanted to be prepared. Just look at young Ben McEvoy going from St Kilda to Hawthorn last week. With Bernie going overseas we thought it was appropriate to get him over to Melbourne for the day to sit down with myself and work through his options – that could be at the Adelaide Crows next year. We'd like to re-contract Bernie for two years now, and extend him out but that's' not going to happen.

“Bernie’s head is spinning a little bit at the moment. He’ll go overseas and we’ll have more of a chat in about a week’s time.”

Reid said he hadn’t discussed the possibility of a move to Brisbane, as part of a deal for Jared Polec, with Vince or the Crows.

“It’s not something we’ve really considered,” he said.
