Adelaide ruck Jess Allan has recommitted to the Club by signing a two-year contract extension.

Allan was already contracted to the end of 2025 but has now joined older sister Sarah Allan in remaining at West Lakes until at least the end of 2027.

The 25-year-old has been rewarded for a career-best season in 2024, where she averaged 33.9 hit outs and 9.6 disposals.

Allan returned to the Crows for the 2023 season after two seasons at GWS and another two out of the game while she focused on her career with the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

She was elevated to Adelaide’s leadership group last season and was promoted to the rank of Captain in the ADF at the end of last year.

“I’m stoked to be staying home in Adelaide for another couple of years,” Allan said.

“Last year was my first year back with no interruptions so I’m keen to see what I can do for the team now I have a lot more stability here in Adelaide with both my work and footy.

“Moving into the leadership space last year was massive for my development both on and off the field so I can’t wait to see how I can grow in that space over the next couple of seasons.”

Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Allan had become one of the team’s most important players.

“As our primary ruck, Jess’ connection with our midfielders is fantastic and her defensive pressure is really important,” Harper said.

“She has been a great addition to our leadership group, and what she brings off-field is highly valued by the team.

“Jess had an impressive and consistent season last year so we can’t wait to see what she can do in the future.”
