After recording a third straight win, Adelaide has moved into third spot on the AFL ladder behind reigning premiers Richmond and the in-form West Coast.

It was the Crows’ fourth-consecutive victory over Carlton.

Adelaide’s return of 19.11 (125) against Carlton was the Club’s best score this season and the third highest of any team in 2018.

On Saturday night, Rory Laird became the first player in history to start a season with 30 or more disposals in seven straight games.

Laird, who ranks second in the AFL for total disposals (247), amassed 32 against Carlton to go with an equal-game high six rebound 50ms and a goal – his first for the season.

Laird and Matt Crouch, who also collected 32 disposals, were the leading ball winners on the ground.

Midfielder Hugh Greenwood won a team-high 14 contested possessions against the Blues.

Of all players to play three or more games this season, Greenwood has the second highest percentage of contested possessions (72 per cent) behind Eagles ruckman Nic Naitanui (77 per cent).

The Crows dominated the Blues in contested possession, 141 – 119.

Greenwood was also Adelaide’s leading tackler against Carlton, and was one of six Crows to kick multiple goals (two).

The clearance count was level on Saturday night (36 – 36) but Adelaide was able to generate 17 more inside 50ms than Carlton. The Crows also dominated contested possession, 141 – 119.

Adelaide kicked a goal from 35.2 per cent of its forward 50m entries – ranked No.1 in Round Seven.

Richard Douglas continued his rich vein of form, with 28 disposals at 85.7 per cent efficiency, a game-high eight clearances, equal-game high five inside 50ms and two goals.

Douglas also had a round-high five score assists and was the third-ranked forward (131.6) on the weekend according to Champion Data.

Mitch McGovern kicked a personal best five goals and also took a team-high nine marks, including a spectacular grab which has been nominated for Mark of the Year.

McGovern and Collingwood forward/midfielder Jordan de Goey, who bagged five against the Brisbane Lions, were the equal-leading goalkickers for the round.

McGovern and fellow forward Josh Jenkins each took five marks inside attacking 50m. The pair took more marks inside 50m (10) than the Carlton team (nine). Adelaide finished with 17.

Forward Jordan Gallucci covered the most ground of any Crow with 14.9 kilometres.

Once again, wingman Paul Seedsman gained more metres (615) than any other player in the game.

Star Eddie Betts laid four tackles in forward 50m – the equal-most of any player for the round.

The Crows outscored the Blues 13 goals to seven from intercepts.
