Adelaide three-time Premiership midfielder Anne Hatchard says Captain Chelsea Randall is a chance to play in the blockbuster Qualifying Final against Melbourne.
The Crows and the Demons will face off on Friday night, with the winner earning direct entry into the Preliminary Final.
Randall has missed the past two matches after suffering an ankle sprain in the Round Eight loss to Brisbane.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Hatchard said Randall would be put through a test at training, as she looked to prove her fitness ahead of the big match.
“Chels is doing pretty well,” Hatchard said.
“She was out on the track on Monday and then tonight she’ll have another run and hopefully pass a fitness test and fingers crossed she’ll be out on the park on Friday night.
“She’s just been doing everything right to try and get herself back, so she has recovered super quickly.
“Chels brings so much for our team, so all our fingers are crossed for her to be out there on Friday.”
Adelaide beat Melbourne in Season Six’s Grand Final, but lost to the Demons in Round One’s rematch.
Hatchard, the reigning Club Champion and Grand Final Best-On-Ground Medallist, said it would take a strong team performance to beat Melbourne.
“We just didn’t bring the contest to that game, so that’s been something we’ve been improving round by round,” Hatchard said.
“It’s always a fierce contest (against Melbourne).
“Melbourne is a very skilled team, they play extremely well together.
“I’m pretty excited to come up against them in round one of the finals and hopefully we can bring our best footy to them.”
Adelaide takes on Melbourne at IKON Park on Friday, November 4, at 7.10pm AEST (6.40pm ACDT).
