Adelaide’s players, coaches and staff will return home from Melbourne on Sunday after receiving a travel exemption from SA Health.
The Crows have been based interstate since July 20 when the AFL requested they leave South Australia to avoid a Statewide lockdown, with a view to the team continuing its season and playing matches against Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs in Victoria.
Upon their return to Adelaide this weekend, the traveling party will be subject to Covid-19 testing and certain quarantine restrictions put in place by health authorities. These measures follow the strict adherence to other protocols and Covid-19 testing while interstate.
Crows CEO Tim Silvers said the season continued to throw up many and varied challenges brought about by Covid-19.
“This is a tough time for many in our community and we consider ourselves fortunate to be in a position where we are able to continue playing games,” Silvers said.
“While it has been challenging being away from loved ones, it has also presented an opportunity to strengthen the connection between our young playing group, coaches and staff.”
