Adelaide midfielder Ben Keays took no solace from recording a career-high for disposals on Sunday.
The former Lion notched 31 touches but the Crows suffered a 12-point loss against Fremantle at Adelaide Oval.
“It’s not really my focus,” Keays told AFC Media.
“I try to do the little things well (and) it was a tough loss.
“I thought (ruckman) Reilly O’Brien was fantastic, he gave us a first look around the ground.
“I’ll take a lot out of the game, a lot of lessons to try and improve.”
Adelaide had just eight players in the final 22 with more than 50 games experience, including Keays.
Fremantle’s midfield - led by Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe and veteran David Mundy - proved too strong for the Crows engine room.
“They were really good, I have a lot of respect for champions of the game like Fyfe and Mundy,” Keays said.
“Even the guys like (Andrew) Brayshaw, the younger guys played really well.
“It was a good battle but unfortunately it swung the other way this week.
“It was a pretty big lesson for us.”
Adelaide will head to Launceston this Sunday to face Hawthorn, a match the side must turn its attention to quickly, according to Keays.
“We need to review the loss and move on,” he said.
“Even though it was a tough loss (this week), we’ve had a decent month.
“We need to look at the positives and bring that into next week.”
