Adelaide has been advised they will receive an end of second-round draft selection as compensation following the departure of unrestricted free agent Rory Atkins.
The selection, currently pick No.36 in this year’s national draft, was assigned to the Crows after paperwork was lodged by Gold Coast on Friday morning.
Atkins played 101 games for the Crows after being selected with pick No.81 in the 2012 AFL Draft.
Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid thanked the 26-year-old for his service.
“Rory has been a popular and respected member of our playing group and we thank him for his contribution to the Club," Reid said.
"He should be exceptionally proud of what he's been able to achieve over the past eight seasons after being the second last name called in the 2012 draft.
“We wish Rory every success for the next chapter in his AFL career.
"He will always be welcome at the Club."
Adelaide currently holds picks 1, 8, 20, 29, 36, 45, 51, 61 and 75 in December’s AFL draft.
