Dockers make three changes, name debutant
"FREMANTLE will unveil its second pick from last year’s National Draft with Hayden Crozier selected to make his AFL debut in Saturday’s important match against Adelaide at Patersons Stadium. He was one of three changes to the team, with Jack Anthony back to provide another avenue in attack. Garrick Ibbotson has also earned a recall after he was omitted for last Sunday’s Carlton Mid Derby. The players to make way were ruckman Jon Griffin, defender Alex Silvagni and Jay van Berlo ..."

Stats that matter
Nathan van Berlo will play his 50th consecutive game in his native Western Australia this weekend. The Crows skipper hasn’t missed a match since round four, 2010. Scott Thompson has the next-best current games streak at West Lakes (45).

Under new coach Ross Lyon, Fremantle is ranked 15th in the competition for goals in 2012, averaging only 11 per game. The Crows average 14 goals to rank seventh in this statistic. However, the Dockers are the best in the League at preventing opposition teams scoring once inside attacking 50m.

The Crows have won 16 of the 27 matches played between these two sides. Interestingly, three of Adelaide’s 11 losses to the Dockers have been by a solitary point (round five 2007, round 16, 2003 and round 17, 1998).

Thompson amassed 40 possessions and nine tackles in the last meeting between these two teams at AAMI Stadium in round three last season. However, it wasn’t enough to secure the prolific midfielder Brownlow Medal votes from the umpires, with the votes going to Nat Fyfe (three), Stephen Hill (two) and Aaron Sandilands (one).

Freo man mountain Aaron Sandilands is averaging a competition-high 42 hit-outs a game this season. Crows ruckman Sam Jacobs averages 29.9.

Darren Jarman holds the Club record for most goals in a match against the Dockers. The mercurial forward slotted eight at Subiaco Oval (Patersons Stadium) in round 18, 1998.

Taylor Walker (23 goals) remains in equal-second place in the Coleman Medal race despite missing the past two matches through suspension. Geelong forward Tom Hawkins leads the way with 24 goals. Jack Riewoldt and Stewart Crameri have also slotted 23 majors this season.

Chris Mayne sits at the top of Freo’s goalkicking this season, with 15.2 at an efficiency rate of 88 per cent.
