After working together, the Adelaide Football Club and the South Australian Jockey Club are pleased to advise slightly altered timings on Saturday 12 May for the Adelaide v Geelong match, and the Distinctive Homes Goodwood featuring Black Caviar.
Both organisations have worked collaboratively to ensure that South Australians, who are passionate about their sport, and wish to attend both events, will now have the best chance of doing so.
Brenton Wilkinson, CEO of the South Australian Jockey Club says, “We are excited to be able to have both codes working together to deliver two great sports to the South Australian public. To see Black Caviar run for her 21st consecutive win is a history making moment and these changes will enable everyone the best opportunity to do so.”
The Adelaide v Geelong Round 7 match at AAMI Stadium has, with the support of the AFL and the broadcasters, been brought forward from 1.15pm to 12.45pm.
Steven Trigg, CEO of The Adelaide Football Club says, “By working together we have provided South Australia the option of seeing two great sporting events on the same day.”
Race 7 - Distinctive Homes Goodwood has been deferred as long as daylight would allow to 4.20pm. This will allow an hour between the events enabling the public the best possible opportunity to attend both events.
Adelaide Football Club and the South Australian Jockey Club recognise the flexibility and efforts of Thoroughbred Racing SA and the broadcaster’s involved (Channel 7/Foxtel/Sky) in avoiding a clash of two events with enormous interest in SA.
