Adelaide’s fan-selected Fantasy team has downed Port Adelaide for the second time this season with a convincing 1765 to 1643 win.
It was also the second consecutive head-to-head victory for the Fantasy Crows with our total once again the biggest score of the official AFL Fan Fantasy league for the round.
Scott Thompson (102) and Sam Jacobs (103) were the pick of the Crows in Round ten, with Jacobs notching his seventh Fantasy ton from nine starts this year.
Matt Suckling (112) carried our backline in the final bye round. The dashing Hawk scored the only Fantasy ton of all our defenders.
Tom Hawkins (100) and Dustin Martin (111) were the other impressive performers while youngster Mitch Hallahan (95) continues to please Fantasy coaches across the competition.
This week we confront the second-placed Lions this week, who are ahead of us by percentage only. We owe Brisbane one from earlier in the season when they beat us comfortably back in Round Six.
Our team looks solid across every line with all of our Fantasy cash cows still growing in value. It could be in our best interests not to use both of our trades this round.
The forward line remains the only area at this stage where we may be able to improve, but we would need to downgrade a player to free up some instant cash.
Cam Shenton ($159,167) of St Kilda and Troy Menzel ($216,886) from Carlton look like the best bargain targets if we wanted to take this route. But we would need to burn a second trade to upgrade another of our mid-priced forwards.
Tom Hawkins and Shaun Higgins have been solid contributors but look the most appropriate pair for such a move. It’s up to you 19th Man, so vote below if you would prefer to include a proven Fantasy performer such as Ben McGlynn ($477,960), Nick Riewoldt ($443,052) or Chad Wingard ($417,272), or make your voice heard if you are happy with the team as it is.
As always, help us select our captain for the upcoming round. Do we back Gary Ablett to respond after a season-low 78 last week?
