Young midfielder Myles Poholke will make his AFL debut at the SCG on Friday night.
Poholke, 19, is one of four inclusions in Adelaide’s team to take on the Sydney Swans.
Onballers Riley Knight and Jordan Gallucci, and utility Andy Otten will play their first AFL games of the season.
Crows vice-captain Rory Sloane (foot) has been ruled out.
Adelaide Development Manager Heath Younie said Sloane had been trying bravely to play with the injury he sustained against Richmond in Round Two.
“We’ve decided to take no risk with Rory this week,” Younie said.
“He’s obviously been willing to play (and has) a big heart, but in fairness to him we’ve decided to rest him this week and give him the best opportunity to play the highest level of football he can for the remainder of the year.”
Veterans Eddie Betts (hamstring) and David Mackay (concussion) were also unavailable for selection, while first-year forward Darcy Fogarty has been omitted.
Fogarty, Curtly Hampton, Patrick Wilson and ruckman Reilly O’Brien are the emergencies.
Fogarty is set to make his SANFL Crows debut against Central District at Elizabeth from 2:10pm.
From Sorrento, Poholke was Adelaide’s second pick (No.44 overall) behind Gallucci (No.15) in the 2016 AFL Draft. Prior to being drafted, Poholke and Gallucci were teammates in the NAB AFL Academy.
Poholke is a, 186cm, 86kg, goalkicking midfielder who has displayed consistent form at SANFL level.
Poholke is the fourth Crow to make his AFL debut this season.
“Myles has worked extremely hard over the pre-season. He put in a lot of work and now gets rewarded for that,” Younie said.
“(In the) last two weeks in the SANFL, he’s been one of our most consistent players.
“We’re really excited for Myles and really proud that he’s been able to get an opportunity this weekend.”
Gallucci, 19, has played one AFL game, debuting alongside Hugh Greenwood in Adelaide’s Round Nine win over the Brisbane Lions last season.
A line-breaker with speed, the former Vic Metro Under-18 co-captain has the capacity to play in the midfield or as a forward.
Younie suggested Gallucci would help fill the small forward role in the absence of Betts and also Lachlan Murphy, who will miss another week with a sore hamstring.
“He (Gallucci) is a first-round draft pick, so we’re really excited to get him back into our team and believe he’s going to bring some energy and impact the game as a forward,” Younie said.
Knight, who has recovered from pre-season ankle surgery, earns a call-up after an impressive SANFL performance against South Adelaide.
“He had outstanding form in the SANFL on the weekend against South Adelaide, 25 touches and seven tackles,” Younie said.
“We’ve missed his run this year … he’ll bring in some real spark to our team.”
Otten has also been rewarded for strong SANFL form.
On Friday night, Adelaide will be hunting its first win over the Swans at the SCG since 2012.
The game starts at 7:50pm (AEST).
