The Adelaide Crows Foundation has awarded its 2024 Next Generation Academy scholarships to emerging young footballers Demi Holloway and Michael Clinch Jr.
Holloway and Clinch are a part of the Adelaide Football Club Crows Academies - Next Generation program, which gives emerging footballers an opportunity to be involved in an AFL Club environment and learn the standards needed to reach the highest level.
The scholarship aims to further increase the opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds to pursue a career in football and includes a financial grant to assist with progressing both education and football opportunities.
Holloway started her football journey at the Salisbury North Football Club and has progressed to the Central District Football Club talent programs.
The 16-year-old represented South Australia at the 2024 AFL U16 Girls National Championships.
Clinch plays at Willaston Football Club and for North Adelaide at U14 level. He recently impressed in the inaugural Bridgestone Crows Academies “Be a Pro” program, including the showcase against Port Adelaide Academies.
“Thanks to the generous support of the Adelaide Crows Foundation Board, we have been able to continue empowering young footballers within our Academies programs to further develop both on field and off-field,” SANFL Crows Academies Manager Jarrod Meers said.
“Not only has the Foundation once again selected talented players in Demi and Michael, but they have also chosen future role models and champions of tomorrow who will take hold of their future and achieve their goals.
“The Crows Academies is committed to supporting and driving the overall talent pool in South Australian and initiatives and support like this is incredible.”
Thirteen Crows Academies participants have heaped the benefits of the scholarship since its inception in 2017.
