Adelaide kept its perfect record against Gold Coast intact, claiming its 11th straight win over the Suns.

In doing so, the Crows climbed to fifth spot on the AFL ladder as one of four teams with a 4 – 2 record.

Midfielder Cameron Ellis-Yolmen had arguably the best match of his 20-game career on Saturday night.

In the absence of Rory Sloane and Brad Crouch, Ellis-Yolmen amassed a personal best 29 disposals and 19 contested possessions – seven more than the next-best player on the ground and the third-most for the round. He ranked second in the AFL for ground-ball gets (15) on the weekend, won 11 hard balls, a game-high seven clearances and kicked a goal in Adelaide’s 48-point victory.

Led by Ellis-Yolmen, Bryce Gibbs and Luke Brown (12) and Hugh Greenwood (11), the Crows won the contested possession count by 30 (166 – 136).

Recast as a half-back, Wayne Milera Junior also produced his most consistent performance on Saturday night. Milera collected a career-high 33 disposals at an elite 85 per cent efficiency, including 14 effective kicks – ranked fourth in the League for the round. He generated a team-high four rebound 50ms to go with three inside 50ms.

Once again, defender Rory Laird was Adelaide’s leading possession winner (34). Laird, who operated at 83 per cent efficiency, also took an equal-game high 10 marks.

For the second time in his short Crows career, Bryce Gibbs finished with 30 or more (31) disposals. Gibbs also took seven marks and sent the ball inside Adelaide’s attacking 50m five times.

Reigning Club Champion Matt Crouch picked up where he left off prior to his hamstring injury, chalking up 30 disposals, four clearances and a goal.

Crow Tom Lynch was the third-ranked forward for the round with 127 Champion Data points. Lynch kicked three goals from 25 disposals and took seven marks.

Lynch was one of five multiple goalkickers for Adelaide. Richard Douglas also kicked three, while captain Taylor Walker and lively forwards Riley Knight and Jordan Gallucci each finished with two.

Douglas ranked third in the AFL for scoreboard impact (31 points) in Round Six.

Adelaide kicked a goal from 29.6 per cent of its forward 50m entries on the weekend – ranked No.1.

After keeping Sydney Swans superstar Lance Franklin to one goal last week, dual All Australian defender Daniel Talia held Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch goalless for only the second time in his last 12 games. Talia (18) also won more disposals than Lynch (10) and operated at 89.5 per cent efficiency.

The Crows took 19 intercept marks on Saturday night – level with Melbourne as the most for the round.

Adelaide wingmen Rory Atkins (28) and Paul Seedsman (26) combined for more than 50 disposals against the Suns.

Seedsman, who gained a game-high 601 metres, also had eight marks, five tackles, four inside 50ms and a goal. He leads the League for metres gained after six rounds with 3,868m.
