West Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui has been dealing with an ongoing Achilles problem in recent weeks but should be available to face Adelaide, Eagles coach Adam Simpson says.

The 26-year-old arrived and left the Eagles' recovery session on Monday on crutches due to the foot complaint, raising concerns about his fitness ahead of Saturday night's clash against the Crows at Domain Stadium.

Naitanui downplayed the injury concern when quizzed by reporters in Perth, saying he would "get up and play" against Adelaide.

Simpson said Naitanui had a lingering Achilles niggle and would be carefully managed for the rest of the season.

"He's had a good couple of pre-seasons and he's got some good games under his belt, but we've always got an eye on his body and how we can get him through a full season," Simpson told Perth radio station 6PR on Monday night.

"Going to the club on crutches today, (there were) alarm bells everywhere, but he's probably feeling the same he's felt for the last five weeks with his Achilles. They just get a bit sore.

"It's a concern but I think he'll still be right to play."

Naitanui will have to get through training this week before being declared fully fit to lock horns with his Crows counterpart Sam Jacobs.

The All Australian ruckman also suffered a broken nose in Sunday's eight-point loss to the Western Bulldogs after receiving an accidental knock from teammate Mark LeCras during the second quarter.

Naitanui had a quiet afternoon against the Bulldogs, finishing with just six disposals to go with his 30 hit-outs.
