Crows forward Shane McAdam has resumed running in his recovery from a quad injury which is expected to sideline him for the next month.

McAdam suffered the injury in the Round 3 SANFL game against Central District and has started a rehabilitation program to get back.

“Shane has been running which is positive and will be involved in some team training next week,” High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

“But because of the nature of the quad injury we’re going to hold him back on kicking. We expect because it’s a little bit unusual he will be about 4-6 weeks away depending on how he responds to training.”

Second-year midfielder Zac Taylor is expected to miss about three months following foot surgery on a Lisfranc injury he suffered in Sunday’s SANFL win over South Adelaide.

“Zac had an incident on the weekend when he got tackled, he tried to go back on but he was unable to, and scans yesterday revealed he has a Lisfranc fracture in his foot,” Burgess said.

“He will need surgery and the surgeon will give us an indication of how long his recovery will be, but we’re hoping he’ll be back for the later part of the season.

“He’s looking at about four weeks off his legs, the first couple in a moon boot, then four weeks getting him moving and four weeks of training before we look at bringing him back in.

“So unfortunately for Zac it’s an extended period of time, but what he did show last year when he had a bit of time off with his thumb injury was a real dedication to his rehab and I’m sure he’ll be doing that again this time.”

Injury list as of Tuesday, May 2:

Hugh Bond (knee) 4-5 weeks
Shane McAdam (quad) 4-6 weeks
Zac Taylor (foot) 12 weeks
