The Adelaide Crows Foundation has released its annual Community Impact Report which details the positive impact of the Club’s community programs.
In 2024, 22,500 children and youth accessed the Foundation’s programs, making it the most successful year to date.
Committed to creating meaningful, lasting change for South Australian children, the Foundation delivers high-quality, research-backed programs that address contemporary challenges.
The Foundation’s initiatives are underpinned by four pillars which are aligned to health, education and Aboriginal inclusion to support disadvantaged children and youth to reach their full potential.
The programs are also designed to empower educators, coaches, and community leaders with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to support children’s well-being.
The Open Parachute program, delivered in partnership with the Sebastian Foundation, entered its second year with 18,500 students engaged in the year-round mental health program. The program was delivered in 40 schools to great success, with an 84 per cent increase in teacher observed improvement of student well-being management.
The Club’s popular STEMFooty program, designed to enhance student motivation in STEM subjects and pathways to careers, was extended in 2024 to cater to Year 11 and 12 students for the first time.
The STEMfooty program was delivered to 3100 students across 31 schools on the Department for Education’s Disadvantage Index, with a 34 per cent increase in participant’s academic results.
The Crows travelled 13,200 km to deliver the Crows on Country program in the APY Lands and Far West Coast. Adelaide players and staff delivered the tailored, culturally inclusive education version of the STEMFooty program to five communities across four trips.
As part of the Club’s Crows Care program, more than 500 tickets were donated to children in care and the initiative was nominated for a Premier’s Child Protection Award.
Adelaide Crows Foundation Chairperson Kate Thiele said the Foundation had made significant progress towards its strategic priorities.
“As we reflect on an incredibly successful year, we are proud to see the positive impact our programs have had on the lives of over 22,500 children and youth,” Thiele said.
“Not only did our programs and initiatives reach a record number of children, but the expansion of existing programs meant we were able to provide meaningful support where it’s needed most.
“We are committed to helping build a future where every child has the support, tools, and opportunities they need to succeed and as we look ahead, we will continue to innovate and collaborate with our partners to ensure that every child has the chance to reach their full potential.”
