A four-goal haul to forward Taylor Walker helped Adelaide to a hard-fought, 19-point victory against Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.
The Crows had the ascendancy right from the start and goals flowed, as both sides displayed accuracy in front of the big sticks.
But it was Adelaide which secured a 16.6 (102) to 13.5 (83) win.
Three early goals gave the Crows a handy buffer, before the Hawks booted three majors in quick succession to briefly wrestle back the lead midway through the third quarter.
It didn’t take long for Adelaide to steady the ship though, as the side kicked two quick goals to take back momentum heading into the final change.
A late surge from Hawthorn brought the margin back down to just one point, before Adelaide countered with three goals to put the game out of the Hawks’ reach.
Walker (four majors) was given plenty of support from Darcy Fogarty and Elliott Himmelberg, who kicked two goals apiece.
Rory Laird continued his strong form, racking up 36 touches to go with two goals.
