Inaugural Crows coach Graham Cornes and Adelaide SANFL coach Heath Younie will guide South Australia into battle against the VFL in this year’s State Game.
Cornes continues as head coach after the Glenelg great returned to state duties for last year’s clash with Western Australia following a 16-year break from the role.
Younie, who will lead Adelaide’s SANFL team for a third season in 2016, joins the state coaching panel for the first time. Originally from Victoria, Younie played a State Game for Western Australia against Tasmania in 1999 while rookie-listed at West Coast.
The WAFL defeated the Croweaters by 45 points in the most recent State Game at Lathlain Park in May. South Australia came from behind to down Victoria by 22 points in the last meeting between the rival states in 2014.
Cornes’ son Kane will join Younie as an assistant coach for the clash on May 29, along with former Port Magpies player and coach Tony Bamford.
Former Crow Stephen Rowe will continue as Chairman of Selectors.
Ex- West Adelaide coach Andy Collins will coach Victoria.
The State Game will be played at Adelaide Oval at 1.40pm during the SANFL bye round on Sunday, May 29.
