Adelaide forward Taylor Walker has assured Crows fans they will be “very, very excited” watching Riley Thilthorpe up forward.
In his AFL debut, Thilthorpe booted five goals - the most of any Crow in their first match - and finished the game with 16 touches and five marks.
From day one, Walker said he noticed something special about the Club’s highest ever draft pick.
“When he first came, I’ve never seen such a big bloke below his knees be so clean… on both feet,” Walker told Triple M’s Roo & Ditts.
“When he came in I thought ‘wow this kid is a talent’.
“I was getting that excited (on Sunday) to see his talent on show.”
Despite a 10-goal second term, Adelaide fell three points short of Hawthorn in a Round Six loss in Launceston.
“I thought we were going to win, but unfortunately we weren’t able to play the way we wanted to,” Walker said.
“First half was the way we wanted to play, great around the contest, played in our forward half and just pressured them into mistakes.
“Then in the second half, they did it to us.
“I’m a glass half-full (guy), I thought it was a great lesson. (It) just keeps reassuring us the way we want to play, you have to do it for four quarters.”
