The flow-on effect of Shaun McKernan switching SANFL clubs has provided a league opportunity for Crows rookie Ben Dowdell.
McKernan will make his debut for Glenelg on Saturday as a key forward, while Dowdell has been recalled by South Adelaide to lead the ruck against West Adelaide at Noarlunga on Friday night.
Rookie Kyle Hartigan (South) and Rory Laird (West) will also feature tonight.
McKernan’s first game for the Tigers will be against the Port Magpies at Alberton Oval. He will join Jarryd Lyons in the Glenelg side.
Lewis Johnston has been named at centre half-forward for North Adelaide against Sturt at Prospect on Saturday.
Sam Kerridge’s good form for Sturt has been rewarded with a spot in Adelaide’s 25 and Aidan Riley is out to rest a groin injury. But Sturt will still have Tim McIntyre, Brodie Martin, Richard Tambling, Angus Graham and Rory Atkins.
Mitch Grigg will play in the midfield for Norwood, who will travel to Elizabeth to play Central District on Saturday night.
The Crows may release more players to the SANFL after the final team for Balfours Showdown XXXIV is named on late-Friday afternoon.
Woodville-West Torrens has the bye. Brodie Smith (Eagles), who is on the comeback from a fractured collarbone, will train at over the weekend rather than playing in the SANFL reserves.
