The Crows could regain wingman David Mackay for Sunday’s clash with St Kilda at Adelaide Oval.
Mackay missed Adelaide’s loss to North Melbourne after being concussed for the second time this season against Richmond in Round 21.
Small utility Rory Laird will also need to overcome concussion to line up against the Saints in the Club’s last minor-round game of the season. Laird was taken from the ground on a stretcher following a head knock in the final minutes at Blundstone Arena on Saturday. He’s been cleared of any structural damage. Defender Sam Shaw (hamstring) is also rated as a ‘test’ this week.
Captain Nathan van Berlo is training at above 80 per cent intensity, but could just fall short of a 2014 comeback depending on when Adelaide’s season finishes.
Forward Tom Lynch remains in a brace after sustaining a small fracture in his neck in Adelaide’s Round 20 win over the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba. Lynch is unlikely to play any further part in the Club’s 2014 campaign.
Defenders Andy Otten (knee) and Kyle Hartigan (spleen) will also miss the rest of the season with serious injuries, while tall Shaun McKernan will be sidelined for 2-3 weeks because of a hamstring strain.
The Crows will have an open training session at Adelaide Oval on Saturday (August 30) from about 10:00am. The session will run up to one hour. Adelaide will take on St Kilda at 2:50pm (local time) on Sunday. The match is headed for another sell-out. A few hundred additional tickets were released on Monday morning.
