Adelaide forward Lachlan Murphy has been nominated for Goal of the Year for his match-sealing effort from the boundary line in Round 15.

With just under six minutes left on the clock and the Crows leading the Hawks by 22 points, Murphy lined up for goal on an acute angle, 50 metres from home.

After moving a photographer’s equipment out of the way, the 21-year-old walked in and struck the Sherrin perfectly on his left, watching it sail straight over the goal umpire’s head.

Murphy then turned to the crowd and celebrated emphatically, producing one of the moments of the evening as Adelaide went on to record its first win of Season 2020.

Jack Gunston (Hawthorn) and Harry Perryman (Greater Western Sydney) have also been nominated this week.
