Adelaide forward Shane McAdam believes teammate Harry Schoenberg might owe him one or two after a cheeky soccer goal in the final quarter.
McAdam laid a big tackle on Hawks defender James Frawley followed by a steal from Oliver Hanrahan to collect and dribble a kick goal-bound.
The ball was slowly rolling for the big sticks, but given the hint of uncertainty, Schoenberg made the call to soccer through for a major.
“He stole it,” McAdam said with a big smile after the game.
“I think he owes me a beer or something, a couple of cool drinks.”
Jokes aside, McAdam enjoyed a strong performance, grabbing another high-flying mark and booting a goal of his own in the third.
“I feel a lot more comfortable,” McAdam said.
“The boys are giving me that confidence to go out there and play my game.
“The coaches as well believe in me and what I can bring to the team… I’m feeling a lot more confident out there.”
After 10 AFL games, McAdam, along with Schoenberg, Lachlan Sholl, Ben Keays and Matthew Nicks, finally had the chance to enjoy a Powerade shower.
“There were quite a few of us in there,” McAdam said.
“It was good, especially to have the coach in there as well as the boys.
“It’s something I’ve always dreamed of as a kid and it finally happened.”
