Daniel Talia will need to pass a concussion test in order to be available for Adelaide’s crucial clash with the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Sunday.
Talia was concussed when he received an errant knee to the face in the second quarter of the Crows’ loss to West Coast on Saturday and was substituted out of the game at half time. The in-form defender will be assessed in accordance with concussion protocols and a decision on his availability is unlikely to be made until late in the week.
Young midfielder Sam Kerridge is ready to return after missing the past six weeks with a foot complaint. Forward Lewis Johnston could also make an earlier-than-expected comeback from surgery to repair a damaged tendon in his hand. Rookie Alex Spina (corked leg) was a late withdrawal from Adelaide’s SANFL team to play Woodville-West Torrens, but is expected to play against Glenelg on Saturday.
Defender Kyle Hartigan requires further assessment following a nasty collision in the SANFL last weekend, which left him with a fractured rib and internal bleeding. Captain Nathan van Berlo is joining in select drills with the main group as he continues his comeback from a ruptured Achilles.
The Crows will hold an open training session at the Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday from approximately 1:00pm. The session will run up to one hour. Adelaide takes on the Lions at 1:10pm (QLD time) on Sunday.
