Adelaide has scheduled a lighter week ahead of the following week’s build-up to the opening round clash with Gold Coast on March 31.

The Crows are now in the enviable position of having every listed player available to train. Only three players - Ben Rutten, Richard Douglas and 2011 draftee Nick Joyce - were not available to play last week.

But Douglas, who has not played since worried by hamstring soreness from the NAB Cup game in Alice Springs on March 3, joined Rutten back on the track late last week and both should be available for the Queensland trip.

Joyce stood out of an SANFL trial to rest a sore wrist.

Coach Brenton Sanderson said the players understood that selection would be difficult next week.

“To have so many players available at this time of the year is great for the team,” he said.

“We’ve had 38 play for us through the NAB Cup and even on Saturday night we were able to run 25, so there will be some disappointments when we name the first 22. But we have a strong team feeling among the group.”

Adelaide has a light open training session on Tuesday from 10.30am, on Max Basheer Reserve.

After tomorrow night’s Season Launch, most players have two days off before returning for training on Friday, and then have the weekend off.

Seventeen Crows played in SANFL trials last weekend.

The SANFL season is launched this Friday night, when 2011 premiers Woodville-West Torrens take on Port Magpies at Thebarton Oval.

South Adelaide and West Adelaide clash on Saturday at Noarlunga but the rest of the opening round is completed the following weekend.
