Adelaide still is to decide how many players it will seek to play in SANFL trials this weekend.
With all AFL clubs out of action to prepare for round one, the Crows may want to give some match fitness into several players returning from injury, as well as others who have been involved in some of the NAB Challenge games.
Sam Jacobs (hamstring), Jared Petrenko (abdomen), Ricky Henderson (concussion) and Brodie Martin (knee) have not played in recent trials while others including Bernie Vince, Richard Tambling and Brad Moran have had limited pre-seasons.
Key forward Kurt Tippett, however, is expected to keep his ankle in a moon boot until later this week before resuming training.
A number of other Crows players have been playing in the SANFL, including Myke Cook, Daniel Talia, Jack Gunston, Jarryd Lyons, Will Young, James Sellar and rookies Sam Martyn, Tim Milera, Matt Wright, Jake von Bertouch, Lachlan Roach and Aidan Riley.
Meanwhile, the Crows have elected not to upgrade any rookie before tomorrow’s first deadline.
“We don’t need to do it at this stage,” football operations general manager Phil Harper said. “If the need arises, we can look at doing it at other stages this season.”
The Crows spent most of today’s public holiday at the club, with a light skills and running session in the morning.
The players have a day off on Tuesday before the Club’s official season launch at the Westpac Centre on Tuesday night.
Adelaide has two football training sessions this week, on Wednesday from 10am and Friday at 8.30am.
