Scott Thompson has capped off another individually-brilliant season, claiming back-to-back Malcolm Blight Medals at the Crows Club Champion Presentation on Friday night.

Thompson, 29, polled votes in every one of Adelaide’s games to finish on 112 votes - 11 clear of runner-up Patrick Dangerfield (101).

The prolific midfielder, who celebrated his 200th game against the Western Bulldogs in Round Two, has been a model of consistency since being traded to Adelaide from Melbourne at the end of 2004.

Remarkably, he has missed just four games in eight years at West Lakes and none since Round Eight, 2010. He has never sat out consecutive games during his Crows career.

Thompson ranked second in the AFL for total disposals this year, collecting 737 possessions in 25 games. He finished second in the League in clearances (170) and third in contested possessions (350). He was recognised for an outstanding season with selection in the 2012 All-Australian team, becoming one of the most-experienced players in history to earn selection for the first time.

Thompson, who claimed the gold jacket in a landslide victory last year, becomes the fifth multiple-winner of Adelaide’s highest-individual honour. Andrew McLeod (1997, 2001 and 2007), Mark Ricciuto (1998, 2003 and 2004), Simon Goodwin (2000, 2005 and 2006) and Ben Hart (1999 and 2002) are the other Crows to have won multiple Malcolm Blight Medals.

Thompson is only the third player, behind Ricciuto (2003-04) and Goodwin (2005-06) to win the award in successive years.

It’s the consistent Crow’s fifth top-three finish in the best and fairest award in the last six years, having finished second in 2010 and third in 2007 and 2008.

Emerging midfielder Rory Sloane, who secured third place (89 votes), led the voting at the halfway mark of the home-and-away season (Round 11), but Thompson and Dangerfield continued their strong vote-getting form to pull away in the latter part of the year.

Sloane, who claimed sixth place in the award last year, was the only player to poll a perfect eight votes from the coaches, for his influential 33-possession and three-goal display against Fremantle at Patersons Stadium in Round 10.

Young stars Sam Jacobs (78 votes) and Taylor Walker (77 votes) rounded out the top five. Experienced heads Brent Reilly and Nathan van Berlo tied for sixth on 76 votes.

Retired defender Michael Doughty finished his career on a high, taking out eighth place on 72 votes while promising players Matt Wright (68 votes) and Daniel Talia (66) also claimed top-10 spots.

Votes were cast on a 0-8 basis, with the Crows coaches meeting to allocate votes after each round.

Other award winners at the Adelaide Convention Centre were Jacobs, who received the Best Team Man award, and Brodie Smith, who claimed the Chairman’s Circle Trophy for emerging talent.

Sloane was presented with the Chelsea Phillis Vice-Presidents Club Coach’s Award, while first-year Crow Sam Kerridge claimed the Mark Bickley Award recognising the on and off-field achievements of a first or second-year player.

Dangerfield was crowned the Members’ Most Valuable Player, taking out the 19th Man award and Walker accepted the Premiership Club Leading Goalkicker award for the second year running.

NAB Rising Star winner Daniel Talia was awarded the inaugural Brian Sando OAM Trophy - established in recognition of the late Dr Sando, who passed away earlier this year.
