I’m sure you are all excited, like me, about the opportunity we have to be successful in the battle of the best clubs of 2006. Clearly we have been through some testing times during the minor round and it is a credit to our playing group that we were good enough to win 16 games and finish second on the premiership table. Earning the right to home finals is an advantage that we deserve. But it is now up to all of us to maximise the benefits of this bonus and perform against Fremantle on Saturday.
There is no easy path to further success. The top four teams play each other in the first week so our immediate challenge is to prepare to play our game against the competition’s form side.
As I have said all year, you - the supporters - can play a big part by packing AAMI Stadium, getting behind the players and making plenty of noise.
