The Adelaide Football Club is entering an exciting era by welcoming new premier partner Adelaide University, which is on a ground breaking journey of its own.

The Club has signed a four-year deal with the nation’s newest major university, formed through the amalgamation of the University of South Australia (UniSA) and University of Adelaide, kickstarting a new generation of contemporary learners in Australia.

Adelaide University will be a premier partner of the Crows’ AFL and AFLW teams from 2025 to 2028 and will feature prominently on the back of all playing guernseys.

Its new logo and branding will also be visible in the changerooms and in the Club’s hospitality functions both in Adelaide and interstate, as well as with a vibrant game-day presence, including big screen and LED displays at Adelaide Oval.

The Club has partnered with UniSA since 2017 and will continue to build on its strengths, offering a joint 12-month Diploma in Sports Management with students obtaining credit towards a Bachelor of Business (Sports Management) at the new Adelaide University.

The new premier partnership coincides with the Club’s recent rebrand and ‘Made from South Australia’ campaign, ahead of its impending move to a new world-class training facility and headquarters at Thebarton Oval.

Adelaide University will officially open in 2026 and aims to deliver nation-leading curriculum and student experience, while driving world-class research and innovation connected to priority industries and producing graduates who are sought after across the world.

Crows CEO Tim Silvers said the partnership built on the Club’s long-term synergies with the University of South Australia and the amalgamation would create new and exciting possibilities in the years ahead.

“We are two South Australian organisations that are passionate about our State and share a commitment to pursuing excellence on a national stage,” Silvers said.

Adelaide University co-Vice Chancellors Professor David Lloyd and Professor Peter Høj AC said the match up between the two organisations is a great one.

“Adelaide University will launch bright futures for generations to come,” Professors Høj and Lloyd said.

“This partnership will see us showcase the incredible talent in our State and harness the power of sport in our community – leading from the front and celebrating both human connection and human performance.”

Adelaide University Deputy Vice Chancellor, International and External Engagement Professor Jessica Gallagher said the partnership also provides the opportunity to support the broader South Australian community.

“Sport has long played an important role in Australian culture and improving social inclusion,” Professor Gallagher said.

“Through this powerful partnership, our organisations will have even greater capacity to partner with our local communities on initiatives that support health and wellbeing and contribute to South Australia’s sustainability and success.”
