The Crows have joined forces with Kumho Tyres to help celebrate 'Pink Fitters Day', an annual event that turns the blokey world of tyre retailing a shade of pink in support of the McGrath Foundation.
On Friday, coach Brenton Sanderson will become a Pink Footy Fitter, stepping off the field and onto the Kumho Tyres shop floor.
Decked out in a special Pink Fitters shirts, Sanderson will join more than 2,000 staff from participating dealers nationwide to promote the importance of tyre safety, whilst raising funds and awareness for the McGrath Foundation.
'Sando' will swap ball skills for car command, checking tyres at The Tread Shed, St Marys.
Now, in its third year, Pink Fitters Day promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Kumho is aiming to raise $20,000, to go with the $100,000 already pledged to the McGrath Foundation throughout 2012. This donation will help the Foundation care for women with breast cancer and their families through access to McGrath Breast Cancer Care Nurses in communities across Australia, as well as increasing breast awareness amongst young Australian women.
Sanderson says, “I’m thrilled to be a Pink Footy Fitter for the day, partnering with Kumho in aid of such a fantastic cause. We hope all of our fans pay us a visit at the Tread Shed and get their tyres checked at the same time.”
