Sydney (778) and Adelaide (772) are ranked No.1 and 2 in the competition for contested possession in 2012.

Patrick Dangerfield is ranked equal-fourth in the League for clearances this year, averaging 7.2 a game - the same number as Swans midfielder Josh Kennedy. Kennedy is the No.1 contested player in the competition, with a total of 84 contested possessions for the season. Dangerfield (77) is ranked fourth, while Scott Thompson (74) is fifth overall.

The Swans and Crows have had the same number of inside 50ms (288) in 2012, ranked equal-fourth.

Adelaide has won 21 of the 31 games played between these two sides to maintain a winning percentage of 67.7. The Crows also enjoy a good record at the SCG, having won five of the past six games between these two sides at the venue dating back to round 18, 2002.
