Adelaide will take at least one emergency to Tasmania on Saturday.
The Crows have confirmed two changes to their selected 22 for the clash with Hawthorn at Launceston's Aurora Stadium, replacing Kris Massie (hamstring) and Luke Jericho (cracked sternum) with Robert Shirley and Bryce Campbell.
But emergencies Patrick Dangerfield, Jarrhan Jacky and Ivan Maric remain on standby as Adelaide waits for Saturday morning's training session before finalising their flight bookings.
Coach Neil Craig on Thursday said he would give Jason Porplyzia (shoulder), Jonathon Griffin and Nathan Bassett (heavy knocks) as long as possible to prove their fitness before making a final decision.
Dangerfield, who turned 18 last Saturday when he made his SANFL league debut for West Adelaide, has not been ruled out of selection by Craig despite returning to his Year 12 studies in Geelong this week. He will train with the Crows on Saturday morning.
“As I have said previously, the fact Patrick is back in Victoria will not stop us from selecting him if that’s the way we want to go,” Craig said.
Campbell, who played one AFL game last season in his first year with the Crows, won a recall on the back of an outstanding midfield performance for Norwood last weekend.
Shirley missed round two because of a quad strain but then sat out last weekend as Adelaide’s emergency while Jacky, 19 last Saturday, has shown some good form in the SANFL with Woodville-West Torrens. Maric, an emergency last weekend for the Crows, also played well for the Port Adelaide Magpies.
Adelaide trains at Max Basheer Reserve on Saturday from 10am. The team will not train in Launceston but will have a walk on Aurora Stadium from about 5pm on Saturday.
