Patrick Dangerfield responded to a newspaper story about his future, saying he has “no interest” in leaving Adelaide when his contract expires in 2015.

One of the players hoping to press for selection is Rory Laird, who was named in Adelaide’s SANFL team to play Woodville-West Torrens in a trial match at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.

Wednesday, March 19
Injured duo eyes early return
Richard Douglas and Tom Lynch are aiming to return from injury earlier than initially expected. Lynch ran laps at Adelaide’s training session on Friday morning and is hoping to be back within the six-week time frame originally given by medical experts. Douglas also jogged at training on Friday and is hopeful of receiving medical clearance to play well inside the predicted 4-5 week time frame.

No rush for rookie promotion
Crows coach Brenton Sanderson says the Club is in no hurry to promote a rookie in place of captain Nathan van Berlo, who has been placed on the long-term injury list. Van Berlo, who had surgery after rupturing his Achilles tendon in a freak training accident in January, was put on the long-term injury list on Tuesday.

City hotel gets Crowified
The InterContinental Adelaide has taken its support of the Crows to new heights. This week, the inner-city hotel will be badged with the traditional Crows hoops and a giant number 19 to symbolise the Club’s 19th Man. Abseilers have been hired to apply the enormous decal, which is 18.2 metres in height. It’s expected to take up to two days to complete.

Skipper placed on long-term injury list
Captain Nathan van Berlo has been placed on the Club’s long-term injury list. Van Berlo, 27, had surgery after rupturing his Achilles tendon in a freak training accident in January. The hard-running midfielder is progressing well in his rehabilitation and is hoping to return to the football field in the latter part of the season.

Crows Foundation donates one millionth charity dollar
Taylor Walker put on his dancing shoes to meet young ballerina, Jorja Van der Hoek, who is a recipient of Variety SA’s Show of Hearts’ Scholarship. In 2014, Variety SA is the major partner of the Crows Foundation, which proudly announced it would donate its 1,000,000 dollar this year.

Reilly’s return on the radar
Veteran defender Brent Reilly revealed he’s hoping to play in Adelaide’s clash with Port Adelaide at Adelaide. Reilly dislocated his right shoulder in Adelaide’s win over Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium in Round 14 last season. The veteran defender gradually built up his strength over the pre-season, but required a minor clean up to remove scar tissue in his shoulder which set him back a few weeks.

Porplyzia primed

Jason Porplyzia said his confidence was sky-high heading into Round One after completing his first full pre-season in three years. Determined to make amends for a disappointing 2013, the classy goalkicker trimmed down over the summer and trained himself back into form. He was one of Club’s pre-season standouts and is hopeful of carrying his good form into the season proper.

New App unveiled
A new and improved free official Crows App was released for iPhone and Android smartphones. The rebuilt App provides better content access, with a new live match centre with scorers and stats for all Crows games, news, video on demand, player profiles, player of the week voting, results and fixture, premiership table plus lots more.

Farewell ‘Bails’
Strategy and Innovation coach Dean Bailey was remembered as an enormously positive influence on family, friends and football at his memorial service at Adelaide Oval on Saturday morning. About 500 people attended the service for the Adelaide assistant coach, who passed away last Tuesday after a brief battle with an aggressive form of lung cancer.
