The annual Darren Jarman/Crows Football Academy is taking enrolments now.

If you are aged 12-16 years and are serious about taking the pathway all the way to AFL, then you can't afford to miss the Darren Jarman/Crows Football Academy - supported by Radio FIVEaa.

Described by some of last year’s pupils as, “the best thing I have ever done” and “great for my development as a footballer”, the Academy will run from April 17-19, 9am-1pm daily.

Held in the Crows Shed on Brebner Drive, the Academy includes skills session daily with the magician Darren Jarman, draft camp fitness activities and presentations from Crows coach Neil Craig and players.

Selected players will host a session on how to balance football, school and life, while Neil Craig and his assistant coaches will lecture on strategies, leadership and preparation for game day.

There is also a nutritional advice session from the club dietician.

Club legend Darren Jarman, who has three AFL premiership medals to his name, wishes there had been a similar concept in place when he was starting his football journey.

"I knew I loved my footy but I would benefited so much from an Academy like this with advice on nutrition, looking after your body, juggling school and football," Jarman said.

"It is such a steep learning curve when you are selected to play SANFL, or are lucky enough to be drafted by an AFL club.

"This Academy will provide budding young players with crucial information and a real heads start."

The cost is $125 for members and $135 for non members.
