Welcome to the new official website of the Adelaide Football Club!

This is another major step for the Crows in our drive to make the best use of the internet - our fastest growing means of communicating with members and supporters.

No doubt there will be a wide range of thoughts about the look of the new site.

All the AFL network sites have been built by communications agencies C4 and Spin, in consultation with the AFL, rights holder Telstra and the clubs.

The logisitics behind redeveloping the sites and transferring nearly all the content to a new management system were enormous and therefore, at this stage, there is very little difference in content between the old and new sites.

But this will change during the first few weeks of the new afc.com.au

News and features will remain the club’s focus. These areas are by far the most popular for visitors and with extra resources this year we will be able to provide more news and more exclusive features and photos. In addition to stories provided by the club, articles from Australian Associated Press and afl.com.au’s official content supplier Media Giants will also appear on our site.

The biggest development for afc.com.au will be the introduction of club-generated video on Channel Crow. We will soon be equipped to show training footage, exclusive interviews with players and staff, chats with fans and footage from special events (for example Club Champion night). And the best news is that all club produced video content will be available free.

Other sections of the site, including ‘Fans Zone’ and ‘History’, will be expanded in coming weeks. There will also be more opportunities to ‘blog’ and we are excited about the Fans Diaries, to be written by supporters from across the world.

Please be patient with the new site. Constructive feedback is welcomed but we expect there will be some ‘bugs’ and we hope to deal with as many of these issues as possible before the start of the premiership season.

For those who may be visiting afc.com.au for the first time, the site features a range of information about the Adelaide Football Club and its operations. In addition to the popular player profiles, supporters can, for example, read more about our Crows in Schools and Crows in Clubs programs, the Crows Foundation, upcoming events, training times, membership and corporate packages and the Crows Tavern.

The club website is also the gateway to Adelaide’s online shop and online auctions.

Adelaide’s website team is led by Communications Manager David Burtenshaw, a former football and cricket reporter with The Advertiser who has been with the Crows for nearly two years.

Communications Assistant Andrew Montesi will also be heavily involved with the website and Jill Moss, the club’s PR consultant, will provide regular articles.

News and feature stories will also be provided for the website through AAP and Media Giants. Katrina Gill is the SA-based reporter for Media Giants.
