NEW ADELAIDE coach Brenton Sanderson has questioned the odds for Saturday night's NAB Cup Grand Final, saying his team is a false favourite against the more experienced Eagles.

Betting agencies have the home side listed as clear fancies for Saturday night's clash, but Sanderson said it should not be the case.

"We shouldn't be favourites, let's be honest," Sanderson said.

"Maybe because the game's here [makes us the favourites], but when you look at the two sides and you marry them up, you know West Coast have the experience.

"[The Eagles are] probably ... more advanced in their game-plan fundamentals than what we are.

"We've had three months to prepare our boys in a style of play.

"It is a good measuring stick for us, we know they're in form, similar to us, they've probably only got two of their best 22 out of the side."

Eagles coach John Worsfold joked the underdog tag might offer his side an advantage.

"I think we'll sneak Nic Naitanui onto the field and no one will notice," he said.

But Worsfold said the Crows should not be underestimated.

"Adelaide are one of the clubs in the competition that we've always admired in terms of their professionalism and on-field attitude," he said.

"They’ve had only a minor blimp in the last couple of seasons and we expect them to rebound very quickly."

Crows skipper Nathan van Berlo said: "We've certainly recognised we've underperformed in the last couple of years in particular, and for us this pre-season has been about working hard to try and get ourselves back to where we think we should be as a footy club and what we should stand for.

"We really want to develop a winning culture here at the footy club so it's going to be really important that we put forward a good performance [on Saturday] night."
