Monday Report: Case for the defence
Adelaide will have to make at least one change to the team to play Fremantle on Friday night
Luke Thompson, Andy Otten and Ricky Henderson are among a range of defensive options for the Crows, who take on Fremantle in Friday night’s second semi final at AAMI Stadium (8.10pm).
Thompson was pulled out of the SANFL yesterday as a precaution. He has played one AFL game this season - against Geelong in round 18 - for a career total of 12.
Otten played his second game for South since returning from a knee injury he suffered playing with the Crows in round 17 and Henderson returned to league action with Central District. His late AFL games was against GWS in round 16.
Talia will have surgery on his broken right forearm today. He believes he hurt his arm a few minutes before the contest which forced him from the field.
Adelaide has a light training run this morning and then its main session (closed) is on Tuesday.
The squad for Friday night’s final will have a short training run on Thursday at AAMI Stadium from about 10.30am.
The winner of the second semi-final advances to play a preliminary final against Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday night, September 22.
