Birthday boy Rory Williams travelled all the way from Perth to watch the Crows take on St Kilda last week.

As a gift from his parents for his 10th birthday, Rory wanted see the Crows at their home ground and meet his hero, Rory Sloane.

Wearing the number 9 on his guernsey, Rory plays football at the Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Club.

“I have been watching AFL since I was born and when I was four, Mark Ricciuto caught my eye. I have loved the Crows ever since,’” he said.

When Ricciuto retired in 2007, Rory continued supporting the Crows with his new favourites including Kurt Tippett, Bernie Vince and Scott Thompson.

But when Rory Sloane arrived on the scene, he was obviously going to have a new favourite.  “He is my favourite because we have the same name and he is really hard at the ball and never stops running and trying!”

Rory was able to meet some of the players before the game on Friday and his mum Leonie explained how excited he was. “They were all really nice to him, especially Rory Sloane who he had a photo with,” she said.

In a family of Melbourne, Fremantle and Hawthorn supporters, Rory proudly flies the flag for the Crows.

This was the first time Rory was able to come and see the Crows in Adelaide and he hopes to be back soon.

“I think the Crows are going to finish in the top four and Rory Sloane will win the Club’s best and fairest,” he said.
