Adelaide captain Nathan van Berlo has signed a new contract with the Crows.

van Berlo, who turns 25 next Monday, said he was excited about extending his commitment to the Club.

“I love playing for the Adelaide Football Club, I’m enjoying the role as captain and I desperately want this Club to be successful,” he said. “A lot has changed since I first came over but I’m confident we have a group of players who are going to have some exciting times in the next few years.”

van Berlo has played 125 AFL games since he made his AFL debut in 2005. He was drafted from WAFL club West Perth with pick No 24 at the 2004 national draft.

Crows football operations manager Phil Harper said: “Nathan has been a great leader for this Club since the day he arrived. He has had a tough year so far in 2011 but we are obviously pleased that he has chosen to lead our playing group back to being an AFL force.”
