Stats that matter
Saturday’s night’s clash will be the Adelaide Football Club’s 500th AFL game. If selected, Sam Jacobs and Jared Petrenko will both play their 50th matches against the Power.

Port Adelaide holds the narrow overall Showdown advantage, having won 17 of the 32 Showdowns, but Adelaide has claimed the last two matches between the bitter rivals.

Former West Coast midfielder, Brad Ebert is ranked first in the AFL for total number of tackles (92), averaging seven tackles a match. Nathan van Berlo is third in the same category with a total of 86 tackles for the season.

Patrick Dangerfield was awarded the Showdown Medal for best on ground earlier this season. Dangerfield collected a career-best 39 disposals and eight marks in Adelaide’s come-from-behind win, while Justin Westhoff kicked 4.1 for the Power.

Port Adelaide will be without leading goal kicker Jay Schulz on the weekend with abdominal injuries he sustained against the Western Bulldogs. He has a total of 28 goals for the season from only 10 matches. He is just outside the top 10 in the race for the Coleman Medal, sitting in 11th position.

Peter Vardy holds the record for most goals by a Crows player against the Power. Vardy slotted seven in Adelaide’s 74-point demolition of Port Adelaide in round 19, 1998.

The Power average fewer disposals than any team in the competition (341) with the exception of Greater Western Sydney and Melbourne.

Matthew Broadbent has had more score involvements (71) than any other Port Adelaide player in 2012.

45,199 is the highest attendance for a Port Adelaide home match in the 7.10 pm timeslot, from Round 20, 2005.

News Bites
Port star likely to return - AFL.com.au
“PORT Adelaide is set to receive a huge boost ahead of Saturday's night Showdown against Adelaide, with the expected return of star midfielder Travis Boak.”

Trio in the mix- AFL.com.au
"THE Power could see the return of gun midfielders and leadership group members Travis Boak and Dom Cassisi this week, as well as Jacob Surjan, who was a late withdrawal last weekend. If those three can make it through training this week it would be a huge boost for the injury-riddled Power. Of the few Power-listed players that lined up for their SANFL sides last weekend, none really impressed, although Simon Phillips' second goal for Norwood helped them to an eight-point win over Sturt. Both Brett Ebert and Aaron Young had games to forget against the Cats, so their spots might come under fire this week."
