Adelaide has made one change to its team ahead of its blockbuster Qualifying Final against North Melbourne on Friday night at Ikon Park.
The Crows have recalled recruit Lily Tarlinton, with the versatile tall slated to line up in her first AFLW final.
Tarlinton, who was selected at the 2023 National Draft, made her debut in Week Seven against Melbourne.
Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said the former Queenslander’s athleticism would complement the team as it vies for a spot in the Preliminary Final.
“Lily has trained really hard for probably the past two months,” Harper said.
“She played against Melbourne a month or so ago and she did quite well, so we were keen to have another look at her.
“The way the match-ups are in this upcoming game, it will be the perfect game for Lily to have a go.
“We are really pleased for her.”
Utility Najwa Allen has been omitted.“It was a big ask from us by putting Naj in last week after she hadn’t played for so long,” Harper said.
“But she’s not been written off for the rest of the season, she could be back in the side next week or the next if we win.”
Forward Danielle Ponter, meanwhile, has been named in the side after passing a fitness test.
Ponter rolled her ankle in the fourth quarter of the Crows’ four-point win against the Cats last Friday but Harper expected her to be fit for the match.
“Danielle completed probably 85 per cent of training during our main session on Wednesday and trained well,” Harper said.
“The medical staff are saying she should be fine to play on Friday night.”
Deni Varnhagen, Abbie Ballard and Allen are listed as the emergencies.
Adelaide takes on North Melbourne at Ikon Park on Friday at 6.45pm (ACDT).
The match will be broadcast on 7Mate Adelaide from 6.30pm, as well as on Kayo and Fox Footy.
