Ian Callinan is running out of time to play a game before Adelaide’s round two clash with the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on April 6.

Callinan, who injured a knee in Adelaide’s last trial match on March 8, will battle to be ready to play for Central District when it opens its SANFL season on Thursday night.

Adelaide is hopeful Luke Brown (ankle) will be ready to train next week and Sam Shaw (knee) played for Glenelg in a trial last week.
Brodie Smith (broken collarbone) has resumed some training but is still another three weeks away from playing.

Up to 22 Crows-listed players could line up this week in the opening round of the SANFL competition, which kicks off with two games on Thursday night.

Adelaide’s next open training session is on Saturday, from about 10am on Max Basheer Reserve.
