General Manager of List Development and Strategy David Noble says Adelaide is ‘unlikely’ to pursue Collingwood duo Heath Shaw and Alan Didak.

Didak, who hails from South Australia, was delisted by the Magpies last month but is keen to play on. Shaw is contracted, but is likely to seek a trade after discussions with the Pies.

Noble said the Crows would back their own talent in the half-back and half-forward roles.

“I don’t think so,” Noble said when asked if the Club would pursue Shaw.

“It probably came onto the radar for us a bit too late, and we’re already a fair way down the path with a few other things. We’ve started to develop Ricky Henderson, Sam Shaw, Daniel Talia, Luke Brown, Rory Laird and Brodie Smith across that back line … so it’s unlikely and also with us not having round one or round two picks.

“We’ve backed Jason Porplyzia in and I think he and Alan (Didak) are quite similar. With a bit of luck, Eddie Betts gets across the line (as a Free Agent) … and I think Jared Petrenko is still coming out of that ‘emerging’ phase in our group to take that role too.”
