An unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, defender Brent Reilly says he has no plans to leave West Lakes.
Reilly, 29, has played 182 games for the Crows since being recruited with pick No.12 in the 2000 AFL National Draft. The Victorian-born veteran enjoyed a career-best season in 2012, playing all 25 games and being selected in the initial All-Australian squad.
Reilly is one of four unrestricted free agents (Graham Johncock, Jason Porplyzia and Ben Rutten) at Adelaide this year. Two-time Club Champion Scott Thompson is a restricted free agent, while skipper Nathan van Berlo recently signed a new three-year deal to remove himself from the free agency market.
Last year, former Crow Chris Knights (Richmond) become the first-ever AFL player to change clubs via free agency. Reilly said he wouldn’t be following suit, vowing to be a one-club player.
“I think the concept of Free Agency is good for us as players and individuals. There’s a bit of power in our hands to explore opportunities … but I don’t want to leave,” Reilly said.
“I want to be a one-club player. To be a Life Member at this Club is a massive honour and I want to have success here. I’m sick of finishing third or fourth, I want to win one.
“The drive is still there and I want to be part of a premiership at this Club.”
