Crows CEO Steven Trigg is happy with what he deems a “balanced” 2014 fixture for the Club.

Trigg said that looking at the fixture across all needs of the Football Club, it was a fair result.

“Considering who we play at home, the timeslots are good, the away travel is fine; so on balance we’re pretty happy with it,” Trigg said.

"We have a good result at home by playing Collingwood on Thursday night, Hawthorn on Friday night and a couple of good Saturday night games, particularly against Richmond.”

Trigg also highlighted that hosting a Thursday night fixture would be something new and extremely exciting for Crows supporters.

“It opens up an entire new market…we’ve got fewer Friday night games than we would like at this venue [Adelaide Oval], but to have a Thursday night, where you can get this migration down to the Oval from the CBD looms as being something really special,” Trigg said.

“The Thursday night fixture is for the national audience, the city of Adelaide and for something just a bit different.”

Adelaide will open the Club’s premiership season with a Thursday night away game against Geelong on March 20.

The Crows will enjoy a total of six games in Victoria with five in Melbourne.

"That is a really good result," said Trigg.
