The Adelaide Football Club and Combined Rural Traders (CRT) have joined forces to bring the Country Crows program to regional South Australia this year.
In its fifth year, the Country Crows program will feature four coaching clinics in regional SA. The first coaching clinic was held in Crystal Brook on March 25, with the remaining clinics to take place at Kapunda on April 1, Port Lincoln on May 5 and Mypolonga on May 28.
Crows Lewis Johnston, Sam Jacobs and Sam Kerridge are ambassadors for the program and will attend the clinics provided their training/game schedule permits. The one-hour clinics will feature around 150 children nominated by their schools.
The ‘host’ junior football club will also receive a sports kit consisting of tackle bags, sports bag, footballs, horn, markers and caps valued at around $500.
With around 10,000 of our record 51,000-plus membership based in regional SA, the Country Crows program further connects our team with our regional members and supporters, as well as further developing the next crop of budding young footballers and potential Crows draftees.
Each student that attends the CRT clinics will receive a show bag consisting of a football, cap and other Crows giveaways. CRT Spokesman Peter Cook said CRT was really pleased to partner with the Adelaide Football Club and take foot ball to regional areas.
"It's really important to both CRT and the Adelaide Crows to be involved in this program together and get local communities involved."
