Dangerfield was able to play out the game despite discomfort and said he would be fine to take on Melbourne at Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon.
“They (my ribs) are just bruised. They’ll be fine come Saturday,” he said.
Adelaide players remonstrated with Giansiracusa after the incident, but Dangerfield said he didn’t believe the act was malicious.
“I didn’t realise he (Giansiracusa) was there, so I wasn’t tensing up to protect myself,” he said.
“It was quite close to the ball and it was right on the siren. I don’t think in the 200-odd games that Giansiracusa has played that he’s every really (intentionally) hurt anyone. I know he’s a ball player.”
