An article written for Adelaide’s website and magazine has won a major prize at the annual SANFL media awards.
Football historian and journalist Peter Cornwall won the best print feature category at the awards for a piece written about Adelaide Oval’s scoreboard pocket, its goalkicking heroes and a South Australian developed kick.
Inspired by brilliant goals kicked by Adelaide’s Eddie Betts, Cornwall spoke to Sturt’s 1960s premiership star Peter Endersbee about his famous SANFL grand final goals and the checkside punt.
Endersbee had been to the redeveloped Adelaide Oval for the first time on the night Betts kicked his goal of the year nomination against North Melbourne in round 13.
Cornwall produced several historic articles for the Crows this season highlighting SA football history at Adelaide Oval and SA’s first football club, the original Adelaide Football Club.
