Adelaide’s official Fan Fantasy team remains undefeated after a superb performance in Round Four.
Our team smashed West Coast with a mammoth 2240 to 1967 victory to sit second, behind the Brisbane Lions on percentage, on the Fan Fantasy League table. The side’s Round Four score ranked amongst the top 1800 of the entire AFL Fantasy community and was the biggest total by any Fan Fantasy team so far in 2014.
Crows Rory Sloane (131 points), Sam Jacobs (125), Matthew Jaensch (96) and Patrick Dangerfield (92) served us well and draftee Matthew Crouch (85) performed nicely on our midfield bench. Crouch deserves to be promoted onto the field this week after outscoring both James Aish (79) and Dom Tyson (75).
Other standout performers included Hawthorn pair Sam Mitchell (122) and Matthew Suckling (106), Suns’ youngster David Swallow (123), Richmond gun Dustin Martin (107) and the usual suspects in Gary Ablett (132), Scott Pendlebury (109) and Dayne Beams (131).
Our forward line is the weakest part of the squad at the moment. Gary Rohan (25) has yet to live up to Fantasy expectation and copped the green vest for the Swans in Round Four.
Crows dynamo Eddie Betts (65) is also a concern. Eddie’s pressure acts go unrewarded in AFL Fantasy and his unselfishness around goal is hurting us, although I’m sure Brenton Sanderson would be pleased. Downgrading Betts could open up more doors for us in the future before the 27-year-old starts dropping in value.
It’s now up to Crows fans to decide our next move as we approach our biggest challenge of the Fantasy fixture so far. State pride is on the line this weekend when we take on Port Adelaide in the first ‘Fantasy Showdown’ of the season.
Check our team below and vote on whether we trade Rohan and Betts for other players who are likely to swell in value, or whether we back the pair to respond.
Also help us select our Round Five captain to take on the Power in this week’s all-important Fantasy Showdown.
