The 19th Man has selected Rory Sloane as its most valuable player for the second straight season.

Sloane, 24, accepted the member-voted award at the Crows Club Champion presentation at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday night.

The influential midfielder backed up a best-and-fairest winning 2013 with another brilliant year.

Sloane assumed significant responsibility this season, sharing the acting captaincy duties with Patrick Dangerfield in the absence of injured skipper Nathan van Berlo. He also had the challenge of dealing with greater attention from opposition taggers, but continued to lead through his actions.

The relentless onballer, who played all 22 games, averaged a career-high 23.7 possessions. He ranked fourth in the AFL in score assists (36), eighth for inside 50ms (99) and kicked 13 goals.

A tireless worker, Sloane also ran hard defensively, laying 147 tackles – ranked fourth in the AFL. He ranked top-three at Adelaide in total possessions, contested possessions, clearances and hard-ball gets.

Recruited with pick No.44 in the 2008 National Draft, the popular Crow celebrated his 100th game against St Kilda at Adelaide Oval in Round 23.

Sloane also took out the Fans MVP on afc.com.au.
